A new steakhouse just opened in Reykjavík a few weeks ago called the simple name Steikhúsið – The Steak House, in Tryggvagata 4, 101 Reykjavík, making it the newest steakhouse in Reykjavík and perhaps the newest restaurant in Reykjavík also.
We were looking forward to dine there because we love to try something new and also there is a lack of decent steakhouses in Reykjavík so a new steak house is a welcome addition to the restaurant scene in Reykjavík.
Sjávargrillið – Seafood Grill is a relatively new restaurant in Reykjavík, Iceland. Opened in 2011 but experienced a major fire in January 2012 but was quickly re-opened after that. This restaurant is run by Gústav Axel Gunnlaugsson, chef of the year in 2010 and Master Chef Lárus Gunnar Jónasson and currently ranks number one in Iceland on TripAdvisor.com with over 200 reviews in spite of having only been open for about two years.

Smørrebrød or Danish open sandwiches is what Ida Davidsen is all about and their history can be traced back five generations of Davidsens, all the way back to 1888, so you can be absolutely sure that the craft of smørrebrød has been mastered within this family for the past 124 years or so.
A burger joint located on Warmoesstraat in Amsterdam where you can customize your own burger to your taste by choosing the bun, type of meat, toppings and sauce it is the Ikea of burgers but you don’t have to do the actual assembly your self.
Silfurtunglið Restaurant and Bar (The Silver Moon) is really beautiful and well decorated restaurant in 60’s style with a modern twist and is located on Snorrabraut in Reykjavík, Iceland. It is decorated with photographs and items that relate to the history of the place from 1955 – 1975. The restaurant just opened again in the beginning of April after being closed for 37 years.
Located in Stokkseyri, Iceland, a small fishing village of roughly 600 inhabitants, the Fjöruborðið Restaurant was originally founded as a café in the late 80’s. Since its placement on the shore of the Atlantic ocean it drew its name “Við Fjöruborðið” which roughly translates to “At the seashore”.
Fjöruborðið was ran for about three years as a café at which time they started serving lobster from the lobster processing plant next door and gradually turning the café with homemade lobster soup and cakes into a successful restaurant that can seat up to 240 guests at a time.
The restaurant was opened in January 2011 and like its name suggest, specializes in Italian cuisine prepared from fresh Icelandic ingredients. Uno Cucina Italiana is located in the heart of Reykjavik, Iceland by a square named after one of the first settlers of Iceland Ingólfur Arnarson.
